Field note · Minnesota stocks by year, not by truck day: walleye fry go in within weeks of ice-out, fingerlings and yearlings mostly in fall, and stream trout in spring and fall. A row here means the fish went in during that year; DNR adds the year's rows after the fact, so the current year can look empty until winter.

Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.

Clark Lake is a 343 acre lake located in west-central Crow Wing County with a maximum depth of 31'. Due to the fertility of the lake, periodic partial winterkills have been known to occur in the past. There are no recent winterkills on record. Walleye have been stocked in the past as fry after winterkill events and the lake association has been allowed to stock fingerlings up to every other year. Fingerling stocking last occurred in October of 2021. Only one Walleye measuring 22.1" was caught in this survey. The catch rate has never been higher than 1.0/gill net. The lake is primarily managed for Northern Pike and panfish species. The Northern Pike catch rate of 9.3/gill net was average for this type of lake. Average length was only 17.4" and 84% of the fish were under 22". Anglers are allowed to keep 10 fish of this size. Panfish size looked a little bit better. Bluegill were caught in above average numbers (51.6/trap net). They had an average length of 6.7" and 37% of the fish were 7" or larger. Black Crappie numbers were also above average (6.0/trap net) and 77% of the fish were 8" or larger. Although not sampled well with gill nets and trap nets, Largemouth Bass are also available for anglers. The fish that were caught ranged from 7.8" to 15.2".
