Field note · Minnesota stocks by year, not by truck day: walleye fry go in within weeks of ice-out, fingerlings and yearlings mostly in fall, and stream trout in spring and fall. A row here means the fish went in during that year; DNR adds the year's rows after the fact, so the current year can look empty until winter.

Crappie Lake is located five miles southeast of Lake George in central Hubbard County. Crappie Lake has a surface area of 23 acres, shoreline length of 0.85 miles, and a maximum depth of 73 feet. Hiking and canoe portage trails are the only access to the lake because the lake is in an area where no motorized vehicles are allowed. Crappie Lake is one of three lakes in the Park Rapids Management Area that is designated as a stream trout lake, specifically managed for Rainbow Trout only, and stocked each fall with Rainbow Trout fingerlings. The other two lakes are Blacksmith and Newman Lakes. Abundance of Rainbow Trout in Crappie Lake in 2021 was the highest since 1989. Rainbow Trout from the 2020 stockings ranged from 8.5 to 11 inches and fish from the 2018 and 2019 stockings ranged from 13 to 17 inches.
