Field note · Minnesota stocks by year, not by truck day: walleye fry go in within weeks of ice-out, fingerlings and yearlings mostly in fall, and stream trout in spring and fall. A row here means the fish went in during that year; DNR adds the year's rows after the fact, so the current year can look empty until winter.

Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.

East Twin Lake is a 146 acre lake located two miles northwest of Nisswa in Crow Wing County. East Twin is located in the Crow Wing River watershed. The lake has a maximum depth of 45'. A nearshore survey was conducted to assess the populations of both game and non-game fish species. Ten 100' long sampling stations were evenly spaced around the lakeshore. Each station was then sampled by backpack electrofishing, and if conditions allowed with a 15' or 50' 1/8th inch seine. The nearshore survey took place on 25 July 2017, with all ten stations sampled by backpack electrofishing. The 15' 1/8th inch seine was used at six stations, with the 50' 1/8th inch seine used at an additional two sites. Two sites had heavy vegetation which prohibited seining. In total 12 species were sampled including intolerant species, Iowa darter, banded killifish, blacknose shiner, blackchin shiner, and mimic shiner. This nearshore survey will be used along with the gillnet and trapnet survey conducted on 19-21 June 2017 to calculate an Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) score. This score will be an indicator of the health of East Twin Lake.
