Field note · Minnesota stocks by year, not by truck day: walleye fry go in within weeks of ice-out, fingerlings and yearlings mostly in fall, and stream trout in spring and fall. A row here means the fish went in during that year; DNR adds the year's rows after the fact, so the current year can look empty until winter.

Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.

A targeted survey was conducted on Graham Lake to provide insight into the current fish community. Survey results will be used to inform stocking decisions and update the public on current and future fishing opportunities. Sixteen Walleye ranging from 12.2 to 15.5 inches were caught during the survey. The presence of Walleye was surprising, considering recently harsh winters and lack of Walleye stocking. These Walleye likely migrated into the system from nearby lakes or rearing ponds. Most of these Walleye will likely exceed 15 inches by the end of 2024 and should provide current angling opportunities. Moving forward, Walleye fry will be stocked into Graham Lake annually to provide a harvest orientated Walleye fishery in between winterkill events. Several other fish species were also caught during the recent survey. Black Bullhead and White Sucker are abundant and most of these fish were small. Two small Black Crappie were also caught in the survey. No Northern Pike or Common Carp were caught during the 2024 survey.
