Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.
CHANGES IN THE FISH POPULATIONS CANNOT BE STATISTICALLY VERIFIED IN THAT THE NUMBER OF NETS SET WERE DIFFERENT FROM THE 1955 SURVEY. NORTHERN PIKE NUMBERS APPEAR TO BE RELATIVELY THE SAME. ONE BLUEGILL WAS NETTED IN THE 1955 SURVEY AND NONE IN 1987. BLACK CRAPPIES APPARENTLY HAVE INCREASED IN NUMBERS. YELLOW PERCH CATCHES WERE NEARLY 3 TIMES THE 1955 RESULTS WHICH MAY BE SIGNIFICANT. LARGEMOUTH BASS ARE ALSO PRESENT AT HIGH LEVELS WHILE NONE WERE NETTED IN THE 1955 SURVEY.
