Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.
WALLEYE, ALTHOUGH NEVER STOCKED, HAVE BEEN SAMPLED IN THIS AND THE 1979 SURVEY. LOCAL REPORTS INDI- CATE OBSERVING WALLEYE IN THE INLET DURING THE SPRING. NORTHERN PIKE ABUNDANCE HAS REMAINED RELA- TIVELY STABLE SINCE THE FIRST ASSESSMENT IN 1973. NO YELLOW PERCH WERE SAMPLED IN THE GILLNETS IN THIS ASSESSMENT COMPARED TO A CPE OF 6.5 IN 1979 AND NONE IN 1973.
