Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.

Red Rock Lake is a 97-acre lake with a maximum depth of 16 feet, located in Eden Prairie. A public boat access is located at a city park on the southeast side of the lake. A city ordinance restricts the size of motors in use on the lake to 10 horsepower. Red Rock Lake is managed for Bluegill, Black Crappie, and Largemouth Bass, and also supports a healthy population of Northern Pike. A Standard Survey was conducted in 2021 to monitor the fish populations. Boat electrofishing in the springtime revealed an abundant Largemouth Bass population, with large fish present in the sample. Fish lengths were between 4 and 21 inches, with a 12 inch average. A good number of fish were between 9.5 and 11.5 inches, however, a sizeable portion of the catch also exceeded 16 inches. With abundant vegetation, Red Rock Lake offers high quality largemouth habitat. Northern Pike were highly abundant in 2021, and of good size. Fish lengths were between 22 and 36 inches, with a 29 inch average. More than 40 percent of the fish sampled were larger than 30 inches. Bluegill were also highly abundant in 2021, however size was modest. The bulk of Bluegill sampled were between 5 and 7 inches, with less than ten percent of the fish exceeding 7 inches. Black Crappie were sampled in low abundance, and size was also modest. Fish lengths were between 7 and 9 inches, with an 8 inch average. Other species caught in low abundance include Black Bullhead, hybrid sunfish, Pumpkinseed, Yellow Perch, and Yellow Bullhead.
