Field note · Minnesota stocks by year, not by truck day: walleye fry go in within weeks of ice-out, fingerlings and yearlings mostly in fall, and stream trout in spring and fall. A row here means the fish went in during that year; DNR adds the year's rows after the fact, so the current year can look empty until winter.

Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.

STATUS OF THE FISHERY: This is the first time the St. Peter Mill Pond has been sampled. A scant fish population was netted, which suggests the stocked panfish are fully utilized. Management of this Kid's Fishing Pond over the years has consisted of stocking 300 lbs. of adult black crappie/bluegill annually. It may be appropriate to increase the stocking rate to sustain the fishery. Black crappie average 13.0/gillnet, with all the fish being 5.5-6.4 inches in length. Black crappie were dominated by age 3 fish with one 4 year old being netted. Other fish netted consisted of one each of bluegill, yellow perch and white sucker.
