Catch per net (CPUE) is the DNR survey's count per gill net or trap net set; higher means more of that species were sampled, not a fishing forecast. Top species per gear shown; where we have no verified common name for a DNR code, the code itself is shown.
West Twin Lake offers fishing for panfish, largemouth bass, and northern pike. Boat access is possible off of the road running between West and East Twin lakes. Bluegill are abundant, with lengths up to 8.2 inches and 35% over 6 inches. Northern pike are also abundant, but generally small, with lengths between 14 and 26 inches and a 20 inch average. Largemouth bass were sampled in moderate to high numbers, with lengths up to 16.5 inches. Black crappie are present in moderate numbers, with lengths up to 10 inches and an average of about 7 inches. Pumpkinseed and hybrid sunfish are present in moderate to high numbers, with average lengths of about 6 inches. Yellow and black bullheads are also present, but predominantly yellow bullheads, with lengths up to 11 inches.
